Requiem for a decade
I've had this site for a year and a half now? Really? What th...
Ten years ago, I was sitting in the same room I'm sitting in now, waiting for the clock to tick over. An hour later it was, according to a forum I frequented at the time--now long since dead--January 1st, 19100. It was an auspicious start to a decade that would see me graduate high school, then college. The college bit was two and a half years ago, and it feels like yesterday. At the moment, listening to the clock chime out for the last time in this decade--which, fortunately, we never seemed to have to come up with a name for--I can remember New Years Eve 2008 like it was yesterday.
I don't know what has happened to my life.
At the end of the day, though, the important thing is that I enjoy it. There is nobody else in the world I would rather be.
I was going to do some kind of review of the decade--you know, "the best movie/video game/political scandal of the 19100s"--but eventually I decided I wasn't sure how. So instead, I'm just going to wish you all a very happy New Year. I hope you are all doing well, and enjoying yourselves, and I hope that the 19110s find you better than even did this decade.
Now I need to go think up some resolutions.
